Lawn Mower Battery Safe Use Precautions

I. Warning

  1. The electrolyte inside the battery is corrosive and may damage metal, cotton products, and stone. Handle the battery properly.
  2. Do NOT place the battery on its side or upside down to prevent acid leakage.
  3. Hydrogen gas may be generated during battery operation and charging. If exposed to fire or sparks, it may cause an explosion. Please observe the following precautions:
    • Use and maintain the battery in a well-ventilated area.
    • Keep sparks and open flames away during battery maintenance.
    • If the battery is charged outside the vehicle, do not install it immediately after charging. Let it rest for at least 10 minutes to allow hydrogen gas to dissipate.
    • After riding, do not remove the battery immediately. Let it rest for at least 10 minutes.
    • During charging, the ambient temperature should not exceed 45°C. If it does, cool the battery with water or reduce the charging current and voltage.
  4. Do NOT place metal tools or conductive materials near the terminals to avoid short-circuiting.
  5. Do NOT strike the terminals with a hammer during battery installation.
  6. Handle the battery carefully during transportation to avoid impact or damage.

II. Lawn Mower Battery Installation and Maintenance

  1. Connect the positive terminal first. Do NOT reverse the polarity, otherwise the motorcycle’s electrical equipment may be damaged.
  2. Activation Notice:
    • Some batteries may not be activated immediately due to differences in vehicle performance. Start the engine several times or gently apply the throttle to help activate the battery more easily.
    • Manual activation is recommended to ensure the exact activation date is recorded.
  3. During acid filling, wear acid-resistant clothing, rubber boots, safety goggles, and rubber gloves. If acid splashes onto skin or clothing, rinse immediately with a large amount of water. Seek medical attention if necessary.
  4. Do NOT over-discharge the battery. Recharge the battery promptly after it has been discharged.
  5. Disconnect the negative terminal if the motorcycle will not be used for a long period.
  6. Do NOT check whether the battery has power by short-circuiting the terminals.
  7. Regularly check the terminal connections and ensure the terminals are clean to maintain good contact.
  8. Store the battery in a dry, well-ventilated place at 5–25°C, away from direct sunlight. Keep the battery at least 2 meters away from heat sources. Check and maintain the battery regularly.
